Goodbye 2022 - Hello 2023

Happy New Year dear reader - Our 2022 finished with a hectic December (one of our busiest months ever!)Many thanks from us, to you! We love providing our unique hospitality, both with Tea Parties and Bed and Breakfast… so long as you folk keep coming, we will be here doing what we can to make your visit special

Glad Rags for Julia & Kay

We had an amazing year (tinged with sadness at times) COVID got us both at different times during the year! Luckily, now that we are a team of two that dreaded virus didn’t cause us to cancel any bookings.

Numerous Tea Party Celebrations kept us busy throughout the year. Our Shopping Event was a resounding success, and so was our stall at the Heighington Christmas Market, for which we feel enormous gratitude, especially with the economic impact we are all feeling right now.

We refitted the en-suite bathroom in one or our B&B rooms. It was lovely to meet staying guests from all over the world after the lockdown restrictions of 2021. The Bed and Breakfast was a finalist in both the Lincolnshire Life Taste the Difference Awards and Destination Lincoln Tourism Awards, we didn’t actually win either, but being ‘up there amongst the big boys’ did give a little glow of pride.

What Are We Planning?

We have exciting plans for 2023 including some Themed Teas to mix things up a bit, Valentines, Mother’s Day and Easter Special Teas are already in the pipeline.

We plan to stage more Shopping Events, giving you the chance to browse our home and garden gifts whilst enjoying a cuppa and a chat. We love to support small independent businesses in the products we offer, (in addition to using some large wholesale suppliers) and always aim to provide beautiful products at unbeatable prices.

The Diary is open for Afternoon Tea Celebrations, and we will, of course, be accepting regular bookings for both Eat-In and Takeaway Teas.

We have plans to refurb our second Bed & Breakfast en-suite bathroom during February. Clarkes Farm is a 200 year old house, and as such, any refurbishment works can unveil all sorts of problems - so keep your fingers crossed for us!

Grateful Thanks

It is an absolute joy to work together with Kay. She has a great deal of retail experience, has so many good ideas and is my Social Media and I.T. Guru. She really does deserve recognition for all her hard work and enthusiasm, whilst running her own small business (The Burrow Escape Holiday Cottage) and being mummy to my beautiful grandson.

It is really lovely to have a partner in crime who really is on the ‘same page’ - Long may our working collaboration continue!

Obviously, I can’t sign off without thanking you lovely lot for your continued interest and support, without which, none of this would be possible.

Please don’t be shy, if you have any comments, feedback or requests, make sure you tell us below.
