Christmas Is Coming!
It’s November 5th & I’m sitting in the barn after a day of Afternoon Teas, listening to the fireworks crashing & banging in our Lincolnshire skies. The weather is very mild for this time of year, and I can hardly believe we are in November already! This bizarre year of unpredictable events, has simply flown by and now Christmas is looming on the horizon, with all the jollity Clarke’s Farm offers
Our Shopping Event was roaring success - thanks to you lovely lot who came along to enjoy a cuppa and mince pie, have a chat and browse our goodies in vast numbers. We never cease to be grateful for the support of our lovely community, without whom, living our dream would not be possible.
Setting up for the Shopping Event is a major undertaking which sends my O.C.D into overdrive. Kay & I have different ideas about how much of the stock needs to be unpacked…. It causes such a mess, and the packaging is (in my opinion) unnecessarily abundant. We started preparations several days beforehand changing the tea rooms into a shop layout, a couple of very late stock deliveries meant it still felt like a mad rush to be ready on the day!
Kay arrived so early on the day (6.00am) that our neighbour came around later to check that everything was okay! Olivia (my lovely daughter in law) was awesome in her tea and coffee serving, and also took these fabulous photos to record the event for posterity … well, okay - social media!
As the day went on, my brain reached it’s full capacity and I realised later, that I’d start a task of finding a price/product for one person, only to get sidetracked, and sucked into another conversation or mission and completely forget about the original person I was supposed to be helping! If you were one of those people, I can only apologise and hope you made allowances for my inefficiency - I can only blame my age & lack of sleep in the preceding days.
We also have a couple of slots left on our Christmas Wreath Workshops (I think only 3 left so be quick if your thinking about coming!) Don’t be shy of coming along on your own - we are a friendly bunch and it would be an ideal opportunity to meet new people.
We are serving Christmas themed, afternoon teas through December, a great way to celebrate and exchange gifts with a group of friends, and of course, we are still delighted to accept bookings for Baby Showers, or other larger celebrations.
If you live locally, and have guests coming during the festive season we can offer two beautiful Bed and Breakfast rooms here at Clarke’s Farm,Heighington, and gorgeous one bedroom self catering accommodation at The Burrow Escape in Branston. The same applies for anyone reading from further afield, why not come and visit the charming rural and historic delights of Lincolnshire,& let us spoil you with our hospitality?
Kay & I are currently working on providing our websites with a direct booking calendar for the accommodation, but for now, using the contact forms to enquire about availability is the best we can offer - always aiming to respond to enquiries as quickly as possible. Booking direct through the websites will always be less than using our other booking platforms
If you want to keep up with our news don’t to forget to register for our email updates, and we’d be delighted to read your remarks/suggestions/comments on the the blog posts(see below) … don’t be shy - let us know what you think?
