New Year - New Decade
Happy New Year Everyone!
It's so exciting to think that we are starting a new decade, after all the political trials and tribulations of 2019, it feels quite promising to be starting with a clean slate, and hopefully the lovely people of Lincolnshire find plenty of reasons to come and celebrate at Clarke's Farm.
December was a very busy month with Wreath, Needlefelting and Craft Workshops, all a great success, and plenty more guests visiting for Christmas Afternoon Tea. I really enjoyed decorating the barn and conservatory for the festive season - it was an absolute joy to share in your festive fun.
I have been outlining dates with our crafty collaborators for more Workshops in 2020. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with friends or family as a special treat, and is also a really easy way to pass an afternoon and meet new people while learning a new skill on your own - the group all eat Afternoon Tea together, so there's no need to feel awkward or left out.
It was wonderful to meet our Bed and Breakfast guests who were visiting Lincoln from all over the country (and overseas). It is so interesting to hear about their travels, and really heartwarming to see their delight at this old house and the quirky charm it offers. I hope to gather more details (with the help of one of my historian guests) of the history of Clarke's Farm in 2020 which I will of course, record for anyone who is interested. I love sharing Clarke's Farm with our visitors - it's such a warm and welcoming house and needs to be alive with people.
We are continuing with our work to improve and refurbish, with plans to replace the conservatory roof and log burner, which will provide a warmer space in winter and a cooler space in summer. Hopefully, this year we will have the weather to host more Teas in the garden, and will be refreshing the gazebo in the Spring. There will be other projects in the garden, I'm sure ..... I just don't know what they are yet!
It is important that I give thanks to family who 'pulled out all the stops' to help during my busiest times (as there simply weren't enough hours in the day for me to do everything myself). Also, the lovely Erin, who is my trusted assistant on busy days to help clear and wash up - she really is a 'diamond'.
Lastly, I must thank @flowersbylittleshed @entangles and @crinklescraft for the wonderful Workshops they have provided, I was a little anxious about working with other small businesses, (I admit that I'm a bit of a control freak) and was careful to listen to feedback to be sure that the combinations were what guests wanted.
I really cannot thank all guests enough for their support and feedback. Every 'like, share & comment' on social media, every verbal recommendation and every time I receive a booking, warms my heart - and continues to make a long held dream come true......
Thank You ❤️
