Autumn Arrives
The year is flying past - and Clarke's Farm has been very busy. I've been having a rare old time baking for all our guests. The great British Summer has been more unpredictable this year - so Teas in the garden have been few and far between! All the rain has meant that the garden has looked very healthy & I have been saved the daily chore of watering. Storm Hannah ripped the gazebo roof to shreds and I really struggled to find a replacement - which resulted in some improvisation to secure a cover over the unexpected hole in the top - which was very inconvenient with all the rain we've had!
It's a real joy to have the luxury oF the barn & conservatory. Not so much running back and forth to the Farm kitchen with food & tea pots - which hopefully reduces the likelihood of catastrophic accidents! (There have been a few near misses).
I've had the pleasure of hosting Baby & Bridal Showers, numerous Birthday Celebrations, Retirement Parties, Funeral Wakes as well as Pop Up And private bookings for Afternoon Tea. It's such a pleasure to meet guests old and new - I am so grateful for all the recommendations I have received which bring me guests travelling from far and wide - and I definitely have some die-hard regular customers for whom I am eternally grateful.
I hosted the first Flower Workshop & Afternoon Tea in collaboration with Willowdene Flowers and Crafts in August and it was a great success. There are more Workshops planned, with Flower/Pumkin arrangements its Willowdene, Felting Workshops in collaboration with 'Entangles', Craft Workshops in Collaboration with Denise, & Luxury Christmas Wreath Workshops in collaboration with 'Flowers By Little Shed' - so lots more reasons for you to come and spend an afternoon with friends and family at Clarke's Farm. Plans are afoot to continue Workshops in the New Year as long as there is sufficient interest, and I will be posting details early so that they are available to purchase as gift vouchers before Christmas - if you're struggling for gift ideas for someone special.
Clarke's Farm Bed and Breakfast has got off to a great start. It's been a steep learning curve, and maintaining standards when I have B&B guests and large Afternoon Tea Parties has caused me a few anxious moments. I still feel a great surge of delight whenever I get a new booking ..... and am trying not to feel too gutted when people book & then cancel π It gives me a lovely glow inside when people leave me a good review - it's such a personal thing - sharing your home with people, and gives me a great sense of relief when they say they have enjoyed their stay.
I have been absolutely shocked and delighted to discover in the last couple of days that Clarke's Farm has been nominated in the Lincolnshire Life Magazine 'Bed & Breakfast of The Year' category! So if you're reading this & you nominated Clarke's Farm ........ Thank You - you made this old bird feel Very Happy!!! ππ»π€
